Click, Crop and Scrap my Life

Crafts. Scrapbook. ATC. Postcard. Handmade. Altered. Digital.

Saw this idea from Pinterest and I’ve decided to do my own version. It’s not as clustered as the original but I love it nonetheless :)

This is Week 2 of my 366: Project Life

Week 2 Spread is from Jan 9 to 15.

This page covers shopping, pointers to review for Andrei’s exam, everyday CK moments, screen caps from our YM convo and first snow in MD. C’s contributing to our PL album by sending in his pictures from the weather, himself or his surroundings from home or work.

This page covers the rest of our week and C’s birthday celebration.

HIGHLIGHTS l I used a sticky notes that looked like an iPhone to represent text messages I received from C.

A small file folder that contains all our birthday wishes.. CK’s own handwriting that looks like some foreign language that I just translated on the side :)

I added a sample ticket that I made for mom and a copy of a message from Twitter.

TFL!

So, Im finally posting my Project Life Week 1. Here’s what the spread looks like:

This week covers Jan 1st to 8th (Sunday to Sunday) since the New Year falls on a Sunday. The rest will be from Monday to Sunday.

This page is all about New Year’s resolutions or goals and our first photos of the year. I’m photographed with my family while C is at work (yes, WORK) cleaning up after the New Year’s Eve party. Wish I could get that 2012 glasses though :)

Here’s a highlight for this page: our version of the Chinese Money Tree. When I was a kid I asked my mom why she’s putting money on our Christmas Tree and coins on the window sill. She said that it’ll give us good fortune and plenty of money for the coming year. All my life I thought that every Filipino household is doing this on New Year’s Eve. Apparently, we are the only household doing this.

This page covers back to school, shopping and our first lakwatsa of the year.

Finally my supplies arrived during the weekend. Here is what my my PL cover looks like:

Most of the cards are free printable that I got from various sites. I added this map to represent our Long Distance Relationship.

I searched the image from google maps, print screen then edited it in Photoshop. I added the red line to connect us, the word Philippines & Maryland and the word art “Love knows no bounderies”. After it was printed I added the foam hearts for finishing touches :)

Again to represent the LDR I used a postcard template from Martha Stewart. I placed monogram ‘C’ from DCWV Travel kit that was designed as a postal stamp. Printed the words “Photos & Story by:” then added our names and age.

Until now I’m still waiting for my supplies that I’ve ordered to make my Project Life this year. Since I wasn’t able to purchase Becky Higgins’ PL kit I just raided my stash.

I fell in love with the Cobalt and Clementine Kit so I’m trying to mimic the bold and bright colors Cobalt and the chic vintage-y feel of the Clementine.

Materials l I’ve purchase page protectors and WRMK Corner-chomper at a local scrapbook store. Then I roamed the shelves of National Bookstores (yes, stores: Superbranch, Centerpoint, Eastwood) to look for office supplies and other scrapbook materials from All About Scrapbooking.

I’ve printed out some wordart and printables for my album cover and fillers.

Found these 6x6 printed paper stack from All About Scrapbooking and Rouge de Garance which is perfect for this project.

Local letter & number transfers or rub-ons.

Some colored pens for my journaling

These index and catalog cards will be used as replacement for the 3 x 4 grid type journal cards of the PL kit.

Here’s a version of my journal tags. I’ve cut the index card down to 3x4 then printed  some texts and wordart.

Process l Since the materials that I’ve ordered hasn’t arrived yet I’m writing down notes on my planner and sketching the cover page & weeks so I would know the placement and photos I need to print. I’ll make my pages by week, have the pictures printed by Monday or Tuesday. I’ll post an update here on my blog by Tuesday or Wednesday most. Hopefully I can stick to this. As Ali said let’s make it simple which will definitely be hard for me since I have a tendency to over think things :)

Hello December! My December Daily officially starts today ♥ The album cover is ready, papers cut and embellies on hand.. My strategy for my first attempt was to choose paper/embellies for the day, record my journal on my notepad/celphone/blog whatever is handy and print my photos every end of the week. I will upload/blog about my progress by week.

To start my December Daily update here’s the album cover I finally made and a few of the pages/inserts…

Cover l Materials used: Flower from Studio Azul Maligayang Pasko kit; AAS bling, white lace ribbon; Craft Express paper; Inkadinkado stamps for Christmas quote

Intro Page l Rusty Pickle Holiday Berries: Snowflakes & Mittens paper, American Crafts Thickers

Hallmark card that I will use as filler. I will put a family Christmas photo on the left side that when we have time to go to the studio :)

Tonight I’ll be making a PDF template for the other pages.. Wish me luck.

so I said in my previous post that I didn’t buy anything for the December Daily album that I’m doing but I ended up spending 2 hours exploring shelf after shelf of the office supply to find little trinkets that can be used for my album. My long search was rewarded with so many treasures!

simple office/school supplies that I can use for my DD and other projects. The colored dots are for hole reinforcements while the colored index cards are for journaling :)

These are my fab find! Will add to secret pockets and envelopes ♥

These will be used to hold extra photos since my DD album is sized 4x6.

And who would’ve thought gift tags and Christmas tags can be used as embellies or even used as secret pocket and hold a 2x2 photo. Can’t wait for tomorrow so I can officially start my December Daily!

I have tons of Holiday photos and memories lost so I decided to try Ali Edwards’ December Daily project.

First stop: gathering my materials… I bought kits way back in 2008/2009 from Studio Azul and Rekindled Moments and I think this is the best time to use them.

For size, I’ve decided to go small.. 4x6 so it’ll not be overly complicated since I’m just new here :) I’ve cut the papers to size and embellishments are ready on hand but now my dilemma, should I adhere the numbers onto the papers like the others did or just hold ‘em off til I have photos on hand? Can’t decide! Here’s my DD foundation pages (well, sort of)

And here’s what Ali did last year:

Ali used a lot of Hambly transparencies but since I’ve decided not to purchase anything for this project (well maybe some tools like circle punchers or corner punchers) I can’t make up my mind whether or not should I mount the numbers up.. Whatcha think? December is just 2 days away and I’m anxious to finish my base
